SXSW 2007: Friday
So it’s Friday, and I haven’t even picked up my badge yet, but it’s obvious that South By Southwest is going to be quite a fantastic experience. I’m staying at the Hampton Inn, just a block or two from the convention center, so if you’re here too, make sure you hunt me down and we’ll grab a drink.
There’s going to be a ton of things to do, and I haven’t really absorbed the schedule at all yet, so I’m sure it’ll be a flog-a-thon of a week. After flying in yesterday on an incredibly easy itinerary on Delta through Atlanta, I shared a cab with Aaron Gustafson, whom I met in Vancouver at WDN, and Chris Schmidt, whom I hadn’t met before. At the Hampton Inn’s happy hour, I reconnected with folks like Jeremy Keith, Patrick Haney, and the whole Refresh DC team.
I also got to meet up with Tara Kohn, a college friend whom I hadn’t seen in a while who is a graduate art history student at UT, and spent the night with her and her friends in parts of Austin I probably wouldn’t have gotten to check out otherwise, so big thanks to Tara and crew.
I’ll be posting thoughts as I go through the panels, speakers, and such.
